It’s ALIVE!

This month marks my 20th year working as XK9. This is Bones the XK9 Blog on the 2020 edition XK9.com. At its core this is a portfolio site, but it aims to be more. XK9.com is a lure. A sincere attempt to draw attention and interest to the work I’ve done, professionally and personally.

XK9.com represents the work that I’ve overseen as creative director and designer, but it should not be construed that I did this work on my own. I have many collaborators who have contributed to making the work better than I could have possibly made as a solo artist.

I am indebted to XK9’s client collaborators, who put their trust in me and XK9. Clients like Ben Chung, Johanna Werther, Mike Fyall, Takamasa Minami, Suzanne Mumford and Jason Croatto at Google; Lia Ronnen at Workman Publishing and Artisan Books; Geetanjali Dillon at Sony; Innocean and Hyundai; and Adam Sharp and the Board of Directors at the Emmys. Their input and guidance were utterly essential in our successful projects.

Then there are the many talented members of XK9’s ad hoc teams. Creators like Matt Sessions whose music and animation is featured in much of XK9’s best work; the members of the XK9 Tactical Media Strike Force led by producer Michael Mattes and DP Jason Elias; and animator/designers and editors like Milan Erceg, Justin Kowalec, Jeremy Alcock, Mark Imgrund, Christopher Willoughby, Tristan Maduro, and Andy “Handyman” Hendren. I am fortunate to employ their excellence.

This new site was made possible by Wix. I was very impressed with the Wix professional toolset and non-coder interface. I’ve shied away from web design in the past. I found HTML daunting and Wordpress cumbersome. Wix gave me the canvas and tools I needed to design a site that looked like something I would design, instead of shoe-horning my work into a predetermined theme. Wix is the real deal, and a game changer for me and my marketing goals.

Please spend some time at XK9.com. Let me know what you think. If you like it, send me a contact note and let me know. XK9.com will remain a work in progress. I have a big project I hope to share very soon. I also have some stories about other projects and surprising results. Stay tuned.
